Chinese New Year Celebration

Chinese New Year is celebrated on the first day of the lunar calendar which is 10th January 2012, with each year ushering in a zodiac animal ruling sign and 2013 is the year of Snake. Family will gather for a reunion dinner on the eve of Chinese New Year and Ang Pows will be given during the open house. Kek Lok Si Temple always a crowd puller especially during the Chinese New Year as there will be annual lighting ceremony held at this 120 years old temple. Devotees believe that this will bring them peace and prosperity.
